Raks Dunya, is an online festival organised by Leena Vie (India) and Sureya Hussein (UK/Turkey). It is the first event of this kind to celebrate both Turkish dances and Egyptian Raqs Sharqi, whilst linking the history between them.
Our mission – to celebrate, represent and spread knowledge and understanding about Turkish dances alongside Egyptian Raqs Sharqi.

15 World renowned teachers will delve into the shared history, lineage and influences of both styles, whilst highlighting their uniqueness
Alongside our fun and challenging workshops as well as lectures, we will prepare a film screening and panel discussion for you to enjoy. Participants will also have the opportunity to submit any questions to our teachers and all workshops will be recorded.
